The Battle of Plassey was a pivotal battle in the British colonization of the Indian subcontinent. The British were outnumbered, but conspired with Siraj-ud-Daulah’s army chief, Mir Jafar, to defeat Siraj-ud-Daulah’s army. The British used the revenue from this battle to expand their military and push out other European colonial powers.
